Knicks Gaming Names Mitchell Franklin First Assistant Coach in Franchise History

New York, NY (March 2, 2022) – NBA 2K League Team: Knicks Gaming, the official NBA 2K League team of The Madison Square Garden Company (NSYE: MSG) announced today that Mitchell Franklin (Mootyy2K) has been named the team’s assistant coach. He will work alongside team manager and head coach Kyle Rudy as well as Jerry Ferrara, the team’s head scout and creative consultant.

Franklin brings valuable experience in the industry, having spent three years as an NBA 2K League professional player. He began playing 2K in 2005, then went on to be a fourth overall pick for Kings Guard Gaming within the first round of the inaugural 2018 2KL Draft. In his second season, he was a first round expansion draft pick and fourth overall pick for Lakers Gaming. The 2018 graduate of Radford University has also spent time as a content creator with the Orlando Magic and won the PS4 side of the NBA 2K Road To The All-Star $250,000 tournament in 2017.

In his role as assistant coach of Knicks Gaming, Franklin will focus on team strategy & operations, player development and scouting.
