NBA 2K League Team: Knicks Gaming Names Nate Kahl New Head Coach

NEW YORK, October 18, 2023 – NBA 2K League Team: Knicks Gaming, the official NBA 2K League team of Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. (NYSE: MSGS) announced today that assistant coach Nate Kahl has been named the team’s new head coach.

Following six seasons as the team’s head coach, Kyle Rudy will take on a new, expanded role with the team, overseeing team and business operations.

“Ever since Nate joined the NBA 2K League back in 2018 and I had the opportunity to coach him, I knew he had what it took to become a coach himself one day,” said Rudy. “He has been the epitome of a true professional and an integral part of shaping the culture and success of Knicks Gaming.”

As a 2018 2nd Round Draft Pick, NBA 2K League Inaugural Champion, and Finals MVP for Knicks Gaming, Kahl brings invaluable experience to the team in his new role. In 2021, Kahl returned to Knicks Gaming as a player, following seasons with the Brooklyn NetsGC and Pacers Gaming. In 2022, Kahl was hired by Knicks Gaming as assistant coach and helped lead the team to qualify for the playoffs in both 3v3 and 5v5.

“This is a full circle moment that I probably wouldn’t have believed if someone told me five years ago when I was first drafted here,” said Kahl. “This is an opportunity to lead and to impact every individual involved with Knicks Gaming. I strongly believe in this organization, this city, and this team.”

In his role as head coach, Kahl will lead the organization’s team operations, player development and scouting.
